Dynamic Experiential Narrative Theory©
Dynamic Experiential Narrative Theory is a model that is firmly aimed at enhancing successful learning and achievement. It has been developed primarily, as a coaching model, especially in peer coaching, where the power of lived experience has proven to bring hope, connection, and empowerment to enhance and improve the lives of those concerned/participating!
The researchers, Emma and Keith, have both experienced the volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA) of the world, as have most people. They know, from experience, the efforts that are needed to keep aligned and moving forward, and that the degrees of effort required, can vary greatly in proportion to the degree of VUCA we have experienced. DENT terms the successful management of VUCA, as being ADEPT.
As a coaching tool, rather than a therapeutic model, DENT© assumes that each individual is basically healthy, and can build healthy learning or developmental partnerships that are not necessarily formal forms of education (although they can be), but are honed and shaped through co-operation.
Ideally, the adept peer coaching process should become a simple habit that can be experienced in groups, one to one or even through careful and planned self-reflection. However, once learned and assimilated, it becomes a way of living, that develops organically, in response to the real benefits conferred and the ease that comes when life makes good sense.
DENT is a model and process that enables, not just these every day solutions, but deep and transformational learning,as well as the advancement of good social and self-relationships.
